Charlotte, TN - Cecil Edward May, age 80, passed away on February 5, 2026, having lived a full and meaningful life. Born on July 29, 1945, Cecil was a man whose presence was truly bigger than life and whose legacy is rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
Above all else, Cecil loved his family deeply. Being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather brought him immense joy and pride. He was a good man in every sense of the word; selfless, kind, and always willing to help others without hesitation.
A strong Christian, Cecil knew Christ and was baptized at a young age. His faith guided his life, and he was a longtime, faithful attendee of Mt. Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He lived his beliefs through his actions, quietly serving others and offering encouragement wherever he went.
Cecil took great pride in his work and was well known as an excellent bondsman. In addition, he had a deep appreciation for horses, training and showing them with care and dedication. He was very much a people person, someone who truly never met a stranger. It seemed Cecil knew everyone, and if he didn't, he soon would. He loved telling a good story and had a way of making others feel welcome and at ease.
He especially enjoyed gathering with friends and family, whether it was patio parties at home or spending time with his buddies at the 48 Market. Rarely seen without a Pepsi nearby, he made sure to have one wherever he went, a simple habit that many will fondly remember. In his earlier years, Cecil also enjoyed coon hunting and spending time outdoors, activities that reflected his love for nature and simple pleasures.
Cecil Edward May lived a life full of purpose, connection, and faith. He will be remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and the many lives he touched along the way.
