Waverly, TN - Phillip "Phil" Myatt, 73, passed away on January 5, 2026. Phil was born on September 5, 1951, and spent his life working hard, caring for his family, and enjoying the simple things he loved most.
He was an outdoorsman at heart and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Whether it was a quiet morning in the woods or time on the water, those moments brought him happiness and peace.
Phil loved his family deeply and was proud of them. He will be remembered as a steady, reliable presence who was always willing to help and do what needed to be done.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral Services for Phillip Myatt were conducted Saturday, January 10, 2026, from the Chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Dennie Boren officiating. Interment followed at Chappell Cemetery
Survived by children: Christopher Shane Myatt, Monica Scott (Steven) of Burns, TN, and Nathan Myatt of Burns, TN; grandchildren: Alexis Gray (Hunter) and Andrew Scott; great-grandson, Lincoln Gray; wife of 28 years, Tammy Myatt; niece, Deb Upchurch; among his other nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Elbert and Ailene Myatt; siblings: Patricia Upchurch and Frances Allsup.
